I believe M.I.A. when I see it.
Stoked for Breeders and Beirut, though!
Just in case you didn't know it, just about every text editing program can automatically change the case of text. Super-easy. But then... I don't think they hire music writers for their smarts.
ooh, graham a bitch!
1 carefully placed terrorist with about 10 pounds of C4 can end an era of shitty muppet rock.
Pretty thin three day event, but I could go for one good day of:
MIA, Breeders, New Pornographers/Destroyer, National, Cold War Kids, Battles, Blakes, Pela, Cops, Cave Singers.
REM and/or the Cure would be okay, but I'm sure the setlist would disappoint in either case. Battles and the Breeders are probably the most interesting. Mates of State and White Rabbits would be worth catching, but I'd rather see Tapes n' Tapes added.
Yeah there's some great stuff in there, but it's not enough indie starpower to sustain three grueling days.
I think Bobcat is just sad that McRad and his shitty clay wheels aren't relevant anymore.. :(
"Christmas on Mars" is finally completed? There is no god.
Yeah, pretty thin lineup, with way way way too many local acts. I'll probably go whatever day Modest Mouse is playing. If I'm lucky, New Porno, Breeders, Mates of States, Cold War Kids, Battles and Okkervil River will be playing the same day.
One conspicuous absence from this festival, as pointed out by Stereogum, is NO Jack Johnson. Hooray!
JJ has become the indie kicking boy. You do one Curious George album and the same album three or four times and lose your credibility, what gives?
I thought Gang of Four were confirmed, did they fall off the schedule?
The Cure are playing a 2.5 hour set, it couldn't be all bad!
New Pornos/Destroyer, Built To Spill, Dengue Fever, Beirut, Flaming Lips movie, Blakes, Death Cab would make for a helluva fun day.
But at $55, plus gas, plus driving time? Bumbershoot will have the same thrills for all three days, will cost 1/3 as much, and is within walking distance.
I suppose if one can pick up some cheap tix on craigslist, it'd be okay...
I think you printed last years list. Oh snap!
Holy shit! Somehow I missed Jamie "So hot I set your Bumbershoot speakers on fire" Lidell in that ALL-CAPS clusterfuck. I am now doubly stoked.
More to be announced! Isn't there some kind of discount for buying more than one day? I seem to remember that in the past, maybe I'm mistaken. I was hoping to go two days but $110 for tickets alone (without tax!) is a bit steep. I'd like to see the schedule's also.
Not much to complain about, great line-up. I just hope I can find some way to save some money.
The Cure in 97 degree heat and bright sun? No. bring your still suits.
