Comments on Bon Iver, Phosphorescent @ Nectar

this is one of those shows that i'm going to regret not going to for the next 8 months until i turn 21, because i'm still underage and "cocaine lights" is stunning. probably way better live.

Funny, we were standing right behind Sam, with his camera above his head the whole show, thinking "he must be attending his first show that didn't start before 11pm or involve lawn seating"

Seriously, if you're going to stand in middle of the crowd taking pictures, you should at least refine your process of

1. hold camera with bright lcd on back above head
2. take picture with flash
3. review picture, frown, delete
4. repeat

Tip: try turning up the ISO on your camera, and turning off the flash, you'll get much better pictures.

We also loved during phosphorescent's cover of 'so far away' when you whipped out your cell phone to google 'so far away lyrics'

did anyone else catch the almost-fight near the front of the stage after a few of bon iver's songs? a couple of the lawn-seater's were having a war of words with a few people behind them. tempers eventually boiled over and one of them took a swing and promptly missed anything resembling a human target. she abandoned the crowd in shame.

other than that annoyance being right behind me, i thought the show was quite amazing. phosphorescent was a pleasant surprise after being so-so on their record and bon iver was wonderful as hoped for.
