this announcement has a lot of buzz, especially considering there is no insight into the tracklisting at all. it's funny because no one has any true idea of what this dude is 'into' and his sound seems totally insular and based on little outside influence.
i would be stoked (and not surprised) if it were a collection of speed garage anthems. shut up and dance '£20 to get in' - your hipster resurgence is an inclusion away.
also, the best dj-kicks is by andrea parker. no other mix in the series comes close.
cosby, my secret wish is that burial mixes his own music. the fact that he has a taste for the worst R&B means it's not the music he hears but how processes the music he hears.
as for the kicks series, i love andrea parker but that is not the best. there two missteps in it. with loco, there are no missteps.
wrong. the best dj kicks is henrik schwarz's. hands down.
Honestly, I probably get the most play out of the Erlend Oye DJ Kicks disc...I love the "singing DJ" concept.
