It's like a circle jerk -- for eunuchs.
I came during Jesse Fuchs'truly mind-fucking presentation, "The Record That Eats Itself: Form, Content, and Subversive Recursion." And was pleasurably disciplined for it by Daphne Carr's sublime "Extreme Loudness and the Body in Pain/Pleasure."
I would like to say though that if I could edit the Conference down to a four panel "best of" for DVD release each year, most of the people who talk shit about it -- many of whom discuss the same topics here and with similar satire and extrapolation -- would actually truly enjoy it. Can I blame you for not wanting to endure the exponential nerd explosions of the "Progressive Rock Politics" panel we endured, or the forty minute meditations on two notes in an Eagles song (presented a couple years back0? No, not at all. But for me, I view those like factoring in a dickhead bouncer, a club full of hostile rubes, overpriced and water-downed drinks, and too short or too long sets at a show I otherwise don't regret attending one bit -- wouldn't have missed for the world, in fact.
