@1-maybe some crusty record store in Bogue, KS doesnt do online stuff, but sonic boom here in town and most indie shops do. i don't think that's the problem. maybe people just don't have as much disposable income as before.

Another possible reason : "indie", at the end of the day, is usually a euphemism for "can't really get and keep your shit together." I've worked in it and watched it from the outside. And it's true 95% of the time. It's not something to sneer at - but it's the truth, I'm afraid.
