whatever you think, i and others, totally agree with your criticism of s f-j. i details-schmetails, the main argument of your essay is correct.

indie music is not more white, it's just that s f-j can't wrap his tiny brain around broader definitions of what might constitute indie music. (aside: i mean the man totally discounts electronic music which is the MOST independent of all music - often made alone at home, just a guy and his synths...)

but i digress. Hot Chip could mean anything by that lyric, and i and you both could be wrong about it, but one thing we know for certain is that s f-j just doesn't think hard, or enough.
