Hey Brian,
I can't seem to find any information on whether Boris are going to release Smile on vinyl here in the states.
Any ideas?
The new Boris fucking SUUUUUUCCCCKSSSSS.
hey biggie j
according to the southern lord website, it looks like a double vinyl version is due out at some point. unfortunately, southern lord seems to stagger their vinyl release dates somewhat later than their cds, so it might be a few months. apparently the vinyl version has an extra song on it as well.
@2 - i've heard that for every new record they've done in the past several years. i suppose it's the price a band pays for constantly reinventing themselves.
langhorne slim is playing at the tractor in ballard on may 19th. amazing live show if you havent seen them yet
Well, now i look silly for gushing in the other topic about Boris but...oh well.
Smile is the bees-knees for real. I think that somehow Boris has snuck up on me and become one of my top 5 favorite current bands. It's like I fell asleep and when i woke up I owned 7 of their albums...
Anyone else read the Pitchfork feature on them that ran a few days back ( http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/feature/50046-interview-boris ) I love the bit about he doesn't feel they're writing songs, in a band, or even making music. An aural curriculum of Boris would've fit real well into some of my Rhetoric classes in college.
Picked up the new BORIS today. After three listens, I'm pretty into it. With such stiff competition, it probably won't become my favorite album of theirs, but it's really good nonetheless.
By the way, Brian, I want to say that I've really enjoyed your recent contributions to Line Out. Your review of the new Earth record in particular was one of the most intelligent pieces of music writing I've read in a long time, and I fucking love that album. Keep up the good work!
