I have only heard about it in whispered tales from the many, many talented people who sang and danced and acted their hearts out on the deck of that sinking ship, as well as their many compatriots in the theatre community who filled the heavily papered houses on the first couple weekends of that run. I truly regret not seeing what was by all accounts a truly remarkable failure, one of those failures that fails so completely that its name becomes a synonym for failure to all involved. "Well, at least it's not Hunchback," they say every time they're involved in a less-than-stellar production.

If anybody has the potential to top that spectacular stage-turd, it's the Mr. Roboto-penning De Young, whose own theatrical ambitions for Kilroy Was Here reportedly ended the career of one of the 70's most successful bands. The only thing that could make it perfect is if he worked from the Seattle script and score, but alas that is too much to ask.
