if that's the way the sound's gonna be forever, hiphop now officially lives at nectar
definitely seemed kinda tame. i just assumed the all-ages kids hate CR
Firstly, your source is wrong and you are uninformed.
While 40 may be considered old by some, I like to think of myself as middle age. Were you imagining a crusty guy in his 80s?
Secondly, there isn't only one person calling in noise complaints. There are many of us within a 4 or 5 block radius of Chop Suey that are affected. I just happen to be the most 'vocal'.
You did, however, get the 'cranky' part correct. I tend to get a bit edgy when I'm at the end of a 60 hour work week trying to keep my struggling, arts oriented, Capitol Hill based business alive.
When would you like to meet me in person? Should we make it, say, 2 am on a Thursday night when I've been trying to get to sleep for 3 hours, but cannot due to fact that my windows have been vibrating for hours? Or maybe 6 am when I have to get up to run my business after 3 hours of sleep?
Hey, I know! Let's have a slumber party at my house some night when you're feeling overworked and really, really tired and all you want is to get some rest.
You can pack your jammies and we'll lie in my bed for hours trying to get to sleep while the party rages a block away! We can text each other and compare feelings the next day from our jobs while we try to function!
It'll be so cool! So fun! Maybe you could even write an article about it for The Stranger entitled,
"ATLAS ASSASSIN LOSES SLEEP!".
Contrary to everything that's been written in these BLOGS over the last few months, we are not trying to shut Chop Suey down or intentionally trying to damage the 'vibrancy of Capitol Hill nightlife'. I like it here. I grew up here. That's why I've been living here longer than most clubs have been in existence here. I've put more money in John Villesvik's pocket than I'd like to admit.
We are trying to work toward a solution so residents and clubs can coexist peacefully. It's not simple and there are no easy solutions.
Rants on a BLOG and this 'us against them' attitude accomplishes nothing. You're in a position as a writer/journalist to do something proactive, right?
So, please stop making assumptions regarding who is saying or doing what.
Do some research.
