@1 It was actually Ryann who pointed it out to me, so she deserves your thanks! But it's so true, I had to share it.

@2 Just because the last three records have been bombs, doesn't mean they're not worth caring about completely. They're still a relevant band. Especially when they do something like this, something that no other band has really done before. The Blue Album and Pinkerton are still great albums. Rivers seems like a weirdo, but this hootenanny thing was actually a lot of fun that I'm surprised the band pulled off as well as they did.

The Hootenanny was a total blast. Weezer's been one of those bands for me that aaalmost got relegated to my nostalgic pile. But the variety of fans that turned out, the pure joy in people's faces as they sang along-that's not something a lesser band could hope to fake.

The Hootenanny, in the exuberant words of "El Scorcho", kinda made me fall in love all over again.
