Also, something else to think about -- I was reading this book about language and communication and there was an anecdote about some large object falling out of a window and down towards pedestrians on the street. Odds are, if you see someone in the path of danger, you'll most likely yell "Look out!" and point. But if you were to yell something else instead (I believe the example was "Pizza!") people on the ground will still figure out from the tone and presentation of this shouting that they should, indeed, look up and/or get out of the way. Homme yelled an epithet in anger; if he'd yelled "pizza" in the same tone of voice. Granted, if he yelled a word closer to "nagger" it would be an even bigger controversy, but good god, some people say "frick" when they mean "fuck", you know?
