nothing worse than a photographer who takes close up shots of bands playing live! Was anyone at these shows?

i was, and the best things i can say about it are these:

CR killed it. the g'town fest was happy to have hiphop for the 1st time

if GMF has a soul, it is The Hands, a band that gets better at taking rote bar-rock cliches to epic levels all the time

the best band was The Lost Episode, three 14 year-old kids (drummer's name: fergus farley)

Saw Helmet play earlier this year, still put on a good show. I enjoyed the early AM REP songs, but of course the meatheads there all got moshed out for 'unsung' at the end. I guess its on a Guitar Hero version out there now so they are enjoying a second wind.

So Helmet didn't play "Meantime" straight thru? I'd heard they were doing that at some of their shows. Yeah, their pre-major label stuff was way more brutal and fun, I pulled out Meantime last week though and still think it rocks. Sadly I was out of town and missed the show.
