IMHHHHHO driveway to driveway is tops, second only to 100,000 fireflies WHICH i didn't know was a magnetic fields song until THIS YEAR.

that "why do we still live here/ in this repulsive town" lyric was my anthem when i was hating kirkland so hard in high school

I hate using comments threads to semi-publish post-script like this, but fuck it, here's why "Detroit has a Skyline" rules hard today:

The phrase, "Played track 6 / Track 7 / Again and again." It's a line about obsessive, emotionally invested music listening in a song that totally invites such a relationship. Say this song is stuck in your dome, you find yourself hitting that line over and over, and it's like some kind of fractal, or a needle spiraling inward on some infinite record. Again and again. More than any Art Brut song, that line just makes me so stoked to have/be so much wrapped up in pop songs.
