Past Lives

You don’t really have to worry about coming into your own as a “new” band when you’ve been playing with your band mates for over a decade. Granted, Past Lives are less than a year old, but they sounded as tight as any other group playing the Block Party yesterday, and threw down my favorite set of the day. They are a band in which every member brings a unique element that perfectly compliments the mix. From the Neumos stage:

I agree! Past Lives put on the best performance I saw all day yesterday. They sounded fucking incredible.

Champagne Champagne came in at a very close second because it was a damn good time being up front, drunk and dancing during the whole set...

Past Lives and Thee Emergency totally stole all of Friday's thunder. Been following both for a while but after seeing them live for the first time, they're my new favorite locals!
