Comment by DeathToCobra

Fuck that soundguy for real. Sleepy Eyes seemed to be as cooperative as possible with the fiasco and when the guitarist tried to work things out with the soundguy in the back of the club, all he got was a "fuck you" from the guy working the boards. Good way to conduct yourself and your business.

Comment by I'm a Nuclear Bomb

Just a thought: When playing an already over-booked and tightly-scheduled festival maybe it's not a god idea to take the majority of your set to set up your fog machine.

Got it? Good. Better luck next time kids.

Comment by I'm a Nuclear Bomb

Some blame the sound guy for the long wait, some blame the fact the band has fog machines, lights, six keyboards and synths, live drums, and at least two guitars to set up.

OK. Next time get your shit set up before hand. That's what that little area to the side of the stage is for. KK and His Weathered Underground played on the main stage with 10+ musicians and yet they managed to pull it off in a timely manner.

To the band: Good luck with that whole "pissing off the sound guy routine." Let me know how that works out for you in the future.

Thanks for playing. Better luck next time.

I'm a Nuclear Bomb: For some reason I don't think pissing off the sound guy at King Cobra will be a long term career limiting move for any band here in town. I was right up front for the set and they were set up quickly. It was then just waiting as the band seemed to plead with the sound guy to do things like TURN ON A MONITOR.

man, it's like that time the soundman wouldn't let gallagher smash his watermellons on stage. he was left with actually having to tell jokes, and that sucked.

I feel need to side with Sleepy Eyes of Death due to the fact that there were problems with multiple bands at King Cobra that day. One band didn't even have vocals their first song. While they may not have seemed as noticeable as Sleepy Eyes, they were all on the sound guy's time. I think a pie in the face is in order.

Even though their set was SOOOO short, the room was blistering hot, due to the tiny space and billions of people, I AM HOOKED! They are amazing, and will definetly see them again and again, if they were to play in the same building as Schoolyard Heroes, there would be too much awesome and the building would explode!

Sleepy Eyes of Death pulled off a great set despite the problematic staff and sound at the venue. When Vellela Vellela played in the same venue later, they had sound problems throughout their entire set - including no lead vocals at the opening of the show. People in the audience were yelling for sound guy to fix the problems. Hmmm. I see a pattern here...
