Funny, I was in the company of some music scene regulars (both professional folks and music consumers) the other night and we were talking about the re-opening, and everyone agreed how much we really did miss that club. It has left a void much more than any club closing since I'd say RCKCNDY, or maybe before that the Off Ramp.
It will be a great thing to walk back into that place and I wish the new owners the best of luck.

I'm glad it's back, I'm glad Jim's doing the sound again. I don't romanticize the Croc's "good old days". I can't see Unwound there again, big whoop...I will enjoy a slice of pizza at the new joint. I will enjoy the annoying wall being knocked out, and most of all I will enjoy hearing Jim tune the new room. See you at the Croc, whipper-snappers...

I've seen lots of great shows at Chop Suey, often by groups on their way up. Like Editors before they played the Showbox. With Ra Ra Riot opening for them, and surprisingly good.

And, smaller venues are always better.

Of course, I think that it's great that the Croc will be reopening. Even without the Croc's historic significance, Seattle can always use another music venue.
