Seattle power-psych band Kinski, now severed from their Sub Pop contract, have completed their first new album since 2007’s Down Below It’s Chaos and are currently looking for a label to release it. I’ve not heard the record, but it seems kind of ridiculous that a band of Kinski’s caliber and history should be in this sort of limbo. To try to balance the karmic equation of hearing so many great records and seeing so many exhilarating shows by Kinski, I’ve been thinking of possible homes for this new music, and have come up with a handful that seem viable: Temporary Residence, Sacred Bones, TeePee, Sargent House, and Thrill Jockey. I know I’m forgetting some solid potential candidates. Which companies do you recommend, wise Line Out readership?
Kinski play CHOICEFEST tonight at the Comet with Ubik, Elk Rider, and Princess.
