Tip Dandy Warhols’ Former Drummer Now Makes Quality Disco Records

Portland drummer Eric Hedford (ex-Dandy Warhols), along with Platinum Records buyer/DJ Brad Vachal, have a cosmic-disco project called (are you ready for this?) Hedford Vachal. And it’s really quite good; so is the logo, which reverses Van Halen’s winged “VH.”
I found out about Hedford Vachal while reading the special Portland-centric issue of XLR8R (I’m always a month behind on my dead-tree-publication reading). In it Nudge/Atlas Sound member Brian Foote recommends Hedford Vachal’s “Alan Vs. Gary” (on England’s Tirk Records). That Goblin-esque space-disco gem and two other tracks reside on their MySpace. They’re worth the hassle.
