Impaired Focus

Posted by on Sun, Dec 21, 2008 at 2:15 PM

In this week's column, I reported that Mune Yamakawa had left FCS. Last night, Yamakawa, over the roar of the drunk Australians (?) at the Cha Cha, corrected me: He's just taking a break from FCS, but he's still very much a part of the band. Also, apparently that wasn't quite the Free Sheep Foundation's last party ever in that space, although they are out of there as of the new year. We regret the errors.

Yeah, like because somehow the fact that we read excuses your complete and utter inadequacy as a music editor. Why don't you grow a pair and seriously address criticism. Such a pussy.

I take criticism on its merits—if there's a serious critique, I'll deal with it seriously; if it's ad hominem bullshit, I'll treat it as such.

And, yeah, if people are reading, then I'm doing my job.

No, your job isn't to get people to read. It is to present a fair and accurate account of the local music scene. That isn't accomplished by covering two clubs and two bars. You are a scenester in the truest and most negative sense of the word. Do yourself a favor, and gasp, travel to Ballard for some shows. Oh, and for the record, Kathleen Wilson, the scum-cunt of music journalism had WAY more balls than you. Also, writing 'ad hominem' doesn't make you smart; it just makes ya sound like a guy with no defense. Does anyone have Jennifer Maerz's number? Seattle could sure use it.

For what it's worth. Mr. Yamakawa works at the Cha Cha. It's likely that talking with him on any given night, would probably be there.
