Worst Videos Ever?

Posted by on Mon, Dec 22, 2008 at 11:07 AM

Audiotuts looks through spread fingers at the 20 worst music vids ever. Hours of heated debate will surely ensue.

The worst one here for me is Bowie and Jagger’s “Dancing in the Streets,” as it is extremely painful to watch two past-their-prime rock legends flounce and flub their way so awfully and ham-fistedly through a great song, which they almost doublehandedly ruin for all time. They look like a right pair of preening prats (nice fucking mullet, Mick).

What’s your least favorite video here (or anywhere, really)? Come on, get in the (anti) holiday spirit.

Oh I am SO glad the Billy Squier video made the list. It was my first pick upon learning the list existed.

The Billy Squier video IS INCREDIBLE. I may never recover. I remember when it came out it seemed goofy, but now it seems GODHEAD.

the dancing in the streets video is definitely the most offensive. seriously, how high you have to be to think this was a good idea?

Cocaine always makes ideas like this seem epic.

The whole thing seems so effortFUL and dreadfully UNcool. This is an indelible stain on both men's legacies. And that mullet is abominable...

The '80s--when acting and sounding like a robot was a sound career move.

"Hold on--you're putting too much emotion in the vocals! Dial it down a few notches. Also, we need to make the drums sound clunkier and crappier."

What's up with Mick taking a swig out of a can during Bowie's verse? He then promptly puts it out of camera range. And they at least should of started making out while singing in each others faces.

I was just gonna say, hey give Mick & Dave a break cos it was a charity single - but wait theres more..

"A rough mix of the track was completed in just four hours, at which point the pair went straight out to London Docklands to film a video with director David Mallet. Thirteen hours after the start of recording, this also was completed."

@11 Okay, fair enough. But that doesn't excuse Mick's mullet.
