??!! What Do Modest Mouse, Sir Mix-a-Lot, and Heart Have in Common?

They're all featured in the worst mashup video I've ever seen. Bonus points: this was made by local human beings in local locales (that's Elliott Bay Book Company! that's Dick's!). One of them just sent me an email:

Some friends and I made this YouTube clip for part of a social media experiment and would totally love it if you could post this to the Stranger music blog, helping us spread the love of a classic hits from Seattle bands. (It's also an experiment in personal humiliation; I am the one that likes big butts in the video.)

Here you go. Prepare to be eaten alive in the comments, kids.

The songs don't make sense put together and they don't have commonalities. What experiement is this for?
