City prosecutors have filed charges against three members of Mad Rad for an altercation at Neumos on January 11th.

According to a police report, officers were called to the club around 3 AM to deal with a disturbance.

When police arrived, the report says, Neumos security staff had Ty Finnan and Nathan Quiroga—who perform under the names Darwin and Buffalo Madonna—pinned to the ground.

Neumos security staff told officers that Finnan and Quiroga had been removed from the club and had repeatedly tried to reenter. Each time, the report says, Finnan and Quiroga had been turned away until security staff were forced to "physically restrain them" from entering the venue.

When things got physical, the report says Finnan and Quiroga took one of the bouncers to the ground and began hitting him with their fists and elbows, gashing the security guard's left cheek.

After police took Finnan and Quiroga in to custody outside the bar, officers told another member of Mad Rad who was at the scene—Peter Robinson, who performs under the name P Smoov—to leave.

The report says Robinson was "extremely intoxicated" and refused to leave. When an officer attempted to escort Robinson to his patrol car, Robinson "went limp and refused to walk."

Officers were able to get Robinson to the hood of a patrol car, but eventually had to put him on the ground and handcuff him to keep him from moving, the report says.

All three men were arrested and spent the night in King County Jail.

Finnan and Quiroga have been charged with assault while Robinson has apparently entered a pretrial diversion program to avoid obstruction and trespassing charges.

Things aren't looking good for Mad Rad right now. They've apparently been banned from Neumos, Chop Suey and the Showbox, and according to another club security staff member, Mad Rad may have also been banned from King Cobra and Havana. The group may also no longer be playing the Obama Inauguration show at the War Room next week, although the War Room's website still lists them on the bill.

Management at the clubs could not be reached for confirmation.

Are they trying to get 'street cred' or are they just ugly, cocaine-loving, hipster douchebags? Probably the latter. It's awesome when little bitches like Mad Rad get taken down the necessary pegs. It's good to see these morons get what they deserve. Don't drop the soap, bitches!

i was there and they were all pretty much acting like idiots, crying about one of their buddies getting kicked out of Moe Bar for being wasted and continually trying to get back in. Moe security was cool about stuff, and even the Seattle cops basically pointed down the street and just said "Go home". The one guy in question (I'm guessing "P SMOOV") was being a drunken asshole and provoking. Finally, he ended up on a cop car, with his two buddies sitting on the front. He started yelling a whole lot and squirming around, and the cops put him on the ground. His bros freaked out, and all of a sudden there were 8 cop cars and a bunch of douchey guys in girl jeans and ball caps freaking out. Shit got totally out of hand really quick because people wouldn't just shut up and leave.

I don't like their music and I think they were acting like douchebags and should have gotten 86'd, but why the showbox? I thought they just got kicked out of moe's? Is it because the bouncer works at the showbox? Was it for a different night? Are the owners of nuemo's affiliated with the showbox? Some clarification would help.

@21 - they got banned from Showbox and all the other venues because they're all tied to the same management/ownership network. I'm not familiar with the specifics, I just know that they're all those venues are connected.

I wouldn't blame too much on Mad Rad. Its pretty easy to get in altercations with Neumo's staff. They love their power and will kick you out on a whim. They also steal belongings they like. I had my flask taken, and when I said I would go put it in my car, the bouncer said, with a smirk, "it's mine now." I started to argue and got bullied then kicked out for being too drunk. I called numerous times the next week without any regard. I have never heard of a Seattle venue with more horror stories of inadequate staffing. Hopefully enough people will complain. Neumos's has the best shows. Too bad they have the worse staff.
