When local musician John Spalding died in November, after a long battle with lung cancer, he left behind a full-length record that he recorded under the name Loveland. The project was a work of love, featuring many guest appearances by friends (including members of Minus the Bear, These Arms Are Snakes, the Blood Brothers, Botch, and Pretty Girls Make Graves), but Spalding died before he was able to officially release the record.
Those involved have seen to it that the record received the proper treatment—The Beautiful Truth will be released February 17 on Tigre Blanco, Minus the Bear's imprint label.
The album is currently available in digital format, and you can preview a few tracks for free at Loveland's MySpace.
