Can I Ask a Dumb Question?

Is this P. Diddy? (I identified this guy as P. Diddy in something I wrote on Slog the other day. He was definitely getting celebrity attention. This photo isn't great, he's making a weird face, and I don't really know my rappers, so I need a Diddy expert.)

No. P-Diddy was at the inauguration but he was a little better dressed than that. Not Jay-Z or Lil Wayne either.

p diddy is standing up in the central aisle a couple feet behind denzel washington. they're pretty much dead center of that entire ground-level VIP section.

well if he's not a rapper then clearly he must be a professional athlete of some sort. let's start with basketball. anybody?

Why isn't it just an ordinary black man at the inauguration?

If he's black does he have to be a rapper? An athlete? An actor?

I think the subtlety of racism by white people in the Northwest is profound.

When I was 17 and at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, a bunch of stupid 17-year-olds I was with were convinced this guy dressed all in white with lots of gold and diamond jewelry was P. Diddy (but that was nine years ago, so I think he was Puff Daddy then.) He CLEARLY wasn't, but he let them all take his photo with him anyway like a bunch of losers.

This is the same phenomenon at work. WHY?!

#31 You so crazy. After noticing the guy was GETTING CELEBRITY ATTENTION Mr. Frizzelle simply wondered who the possibly famous (black) man was and wondered if anyone else knew who he was. I find the never-ending overreactions of white people in the Northwest to be profound. Not everything is racist. Seriously.

Detroit Free Press says R. Kelly was there at the inauguration. Did he hit on any teens...that's the distinct sign of the Americanus R.Kellyus.

If only there was some way to quickly find a bunch of pictures of P. Diddy to see what he looks like. On the internet, say.

@19, read the post before you jump to conclusions about the subtlety of racism in the Northwest...he was getting celebrity attention, which is I'm sure what sparked the curiousity..if he was trying to identify a white person, i doubt you would have had the same immature reaction. Now who's the subtle racist?

As the production assistant for the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun, I am familiar with Mr. Combs. I am almost certain that is not him. Puff doesn't dress down (he has a fashion label!) nor does he wear a camera (he has people who take pictures for him). Where is his personal assistant? Where are his five guards? That's somebody else.
