The contents of a press release sent via e-mail this afternoon:
21-YEAR OLD HEARTBROKEN SEATTLE FAN TO MAKE RIHANNA A VALENTINE AFTER MISSING THE GRAMMY'SA 21-year-old Rihanna fan who traveled almost 1,000 miles by car to the Grammy's to see her pop idol perform was heartbroken by the singer's hospitalization from assault and subsequent absence from the Grammy's. [NAME REDACTED], a third generation jeweler and college student in Seattle, is custom-designing Rihanna a 14K gold diamond necklace from her family's store, so the singer does not go empty-handed on the day of love, Valentine's Day. [STORE NAME REDACTED] of Seattle has been working around the clock to put the finishing touches on Rihanna's Valentine's Day necklace.
So a young pop icon gets (allegedly) beat up by her boyfriend and some little brat's response is to send her a necklace disguised as a publicity stunt for her own sob story of driving 1,000 miles to see the cancelled performance? How sweet. I'm sure Rihanna will swoon as soon as she gets the necklace and hears about how you turned her sad and personal situation into an opportunity to draw attention to yourself and your family's business.
Sometimes I hate people.
(Name and business redacted not to protect the stupid, but rather to avoid giving them the publicity they're clearly so hungry for.)
