Keiser bill would crack down on imposter musical groups; Jon “Bowzer” Bauman of “Sha Na Na” set to testify
OLYMPIA — The Senate Labor, Commerce & Consumer Protection Committee will meet Tuesday, Feb. 17 for a public hearing on Senate Bill 5284. The bill, sponsored by Sen. Karen Keiser, D-Kent, bans a person from advertising or conducting a live musical performance or production through the use of a false, deceptive, or misleading affiliation or association between a performing group and a recording group. Jon "Bowzer" Bauman—former bass singer for the group “Sha Na Na”—is scheduled to testify.
