Jaguar Love Loses Drummer, Gains Drum Machine

a93b/1235678000-jaguarloveduo.jpgYesterday Jaguar Love announced via MySpace that J. Clark is no longer with the band and now the former Blood Brothers bandmates Cody Votolato and Johnny Whitney will continue on and revamp their sound:

We are no longer plaing with J and are going to be touring as a two piece, just Cody and I playing to a drum machine.

We will be playing only 3 songs from the record, (Highways of Gold, Bats over the Pacific, and Jaguar Pirates) but they sound a bit different now, it's almost like we remixed them and are playing the remixes. The rest of the set will composed of new songs (Boom, Polariods and Red Wine, Evaline, I started a Fire, Ghost Party and Tricerisaurus-Hex) and a Minor Threat cover (Small Man, Big Mouth). The vibe of the new material is kind of Daft Punk meets New Order meets Black Flag

The band is currently on tour in Australia; their next Seattle show is March 28th at Chop Suey with OK GO.

HAHa, good one.
Seriously - can these to please get over themselves?!
they look like the stroke each other off everynight whispering how great each other are... "oh cody youre such a intense guitar player" "oh johnny, your voice is so high and your hair is so yellow, i love you" "i love you too"

the remind me of those two kids from "home movies" perry & walter

for some reason, i've always disliked the blood brothers, and all the resulting groups that came out of their demise. i think they are an utterly charmless group of people with more coke in their system than good ideas.

@8:

bullshit, what about Godflesh?

@9: Honestly Lee, I never saw Godflesh. And I'm embarrassed to admit that I just always figured they had a live drummer, because THAT'S WHAT REAL BANDS DO.

There are always exceptions. I can't think of one at the moment, but give me a day or two....

@10: Big Black. Best non-drummer/drum machine rock band ever.

One of their live vids on their myspace shows a keyboard player and a bassist - making them a 5-piece. Are they out too?

@11 - Yeah, Big Black have always been one of my exceptions to the rule. Also, local grind-with-cello band Ghidorah.
