Noise for the Needy is the annual music festival that invades Seattle's clubs for a weekend in June to give everyone tinnitus while raising money for some great local organizations. This year's charity is Transitional Resources, "a licensed mental health center and residential program located in West Seattle, which offers a full spectrum of optimistic and respectful mental health services to adults with major mental illnesses."

All you have to do to lend a hand is show up at a Noise for the Needy show and viola! You're a good samaritan! While the bulk of NftN's events won't happen until June, they're kicking off the season of charitable shows with an opening party this Saturday at Woodshed Studios on Fairview Ave (it'll help raise money to make sure this year's festival is awe-some). Truckasauras, Erik Blood, Exohxo, Origami Ghosts, and Solomon Georgio are playing starting at 9 pm, and there's a pre-funk event/happy hour starting at 6 pm with DJ Chrispo of Studio 66.
