Last weekend's Broken Disco set by Thomas Fehlmann has got me seeking out more of his material (I've previously only really heard his stuff on various installments of Kompakt's Pop Ambient and Total) to listen to, stuff that falls more into that schaffling, groovy vein he was working at Chop Suey than his lighter ambient stuff. The searching has led me to Visions of Blah, Fehlmann's 2002 full-length for Kompakt (all this searching has basically been done on Brian Geoghagan's itunes, btw), and it's been pretty much perfect, not as pneumatically-pumping as his Broken Disco set got at its peak, but a fine balance of steady, thumping pulse and gracefully arranged, blissy tones. So, seven years old, not breaking news or anything, but yet another recommendation for your sunny day listening pleasure. Seek it out and enjoy.
