Trimpin Tonight on Flotation Device

Posted by Christopher DeLaurenti on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 4:24 PM

Trimpin, a Seattle artist who compellingly unites sound and sculpture, visits the studio to talk about his work and the new documentary, Trimpin: The Sound of Invention, which I praised and previewed last fall and shows at SIFF next weekend. I'll ask him about his musical influences; together, we'll spin tracks by John Cage, Cecil Taylor, Harry Partch, Conlon Nancarrow, Anthony Braxton, and others.
