Last night at Havana was the third Rain City Mix Tape Club meet-up. The theme was Summer Jamz, the music was DJ'd by Neil Ofsteel and Jonah Bergman (of Schoolyard Heroes), and there were even more new people, which means lots more mixes. And now, three months into it, people are starting to get more and more creative with their contributions. One mix came with a toy bubble gun, and another was, well, another looked like this:
Local freelance designer Liz Andrade took the heads of RCMTC regulars and photoshopped them onto the Wet Hot American Summer artwork. Hilarious! And not only is the cover rad, but the mix is good too (everything from Mudhoney to the Temptations to Roy). I fall in love with RCMTC a little more each month.
Next month's meet-up will be June 28th (it's the last Sunday of every month, and always at Havana). The theme is "Dude Party." I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I got dibs on Joan Jett's "Doing Alright With the Boys."
