Tonight, Universal Studios Florida (Jason Baxter and Kyle Hargus) play sun-kissed psychedelia designed to envelop you in a tropical forest. USF's music sounds like something you'd hear floating down a river with Atlas Sound playing along to the ambient sound. Their performance tonight is also their unofficial CD release for their record Ocean Sunbirds. Joining them on the bill is Big Spider's Back, who plays harmonious electronica rooted in shoegaze and techno. Full disclosure: Big Spider's Back is a friend, who is in the process of releasing some fantastic new music shortly with my help, but it will be a sharp and rapturous affair, conflict of interest or not. Also playing are Secret Colors, and Blastoids from Tennessee. Tonight's show is a must-see for fans of blissful pop music, Panda Bear and Animal Collective.
