You're a question on Jeopardy.

Congratulations, Sub Pop!

And not a single dummy on the show knew the answer. HA!

The best part is the question was wrong and neither Stranger music writing staff or Jeopardy knew it! Soundgarden's first album, Ultramega OK, came out on SST, no Sub Pop.

But Subpop was the correct answer.

Sorry to be a record collecting nerd, but #3, how is Sub Pop the correct answer when they never released a Soundgarden album?

@4: Didn't they release a Soundgarden 7"? Regardless, Jeopardy was reaching with that one.

@6, those were two 4-6 song EPs released separately on vinyl, maybe I'm just arguing semantics, but I guess I wouldn't call a later CD compilation of EPs an album. I think most people would consider an album to be a full-length LP/CD. Personally I think their Sub Pop stuff was the best music they ever did, I wish they had stuck around to put out an album with Jack Endino on Sub Pop instead of jumping to SST, then A&M!
