this should be on slog , too, not just line out. isn't this crazy? of course, there's all sorts of other crazy that's legal right now, so i suppose this isn't the biggest legal concern for americans concerned about justice these days...

Why should the record industry change their business model now? Instead of charging $1.99 per song, they can sit back and pounce every now and again and charge $80,000 per song, or they can just send out letters to thousands of people and demand to settle our of court for $3500 as they have started to do. Watch out!

Yeah, this judgement defies reason. Are they holding her responsible for every idiot that downloaded the latest No Doubt single? And how much of that settlement is the artist going to see? My guess is zero.
