Whidbey Island techno producer Computer Controlled (aka Wisconsin transplant Larry Kleinke, who was featured in Data Breaker March 3) releases a new 12” on Assimilation Records June 25 titled The Beacon. You can hear the original and a remix by Decibel Flekx here.
“The Beacon” is one of those intense, stoic bangers that burrows into you like laser surgery. The incessantly wavering, rubbed-wine-glass tone is the key to the whole track, focusing your attention like an insidious government mind-control experiment. This is some heady body music.
Press release after the cut.
Computer Controlled who is now standing alongside his longtime idols Woody McBride, Hyperactive, etc., with his own international releases on Acid Revolt Unit France, Acid Jack Records Germany, Communique' Records, Napalm Enema Recordings, Alien Imprint, Urbanground Records, Primal Instinct Recordings, as well as Remixes and his various collaboration projects (Acid Pranksters w/Poor Boy Rich and AcidHazard W/PacoDebongo), now makes his debut on the rising Assimilation Recordings imprint with an eerie deep Techno groove, "The Beacon". You'll find yourself trying to close in, just to end up lost even deeper into the thick unforgiving beat, beyond return. Decibel Flekx takes a reconnaissance approach to the remix and deploys a tactful unit of skills to answer the call of The Beacon. DF returns successfully with a powerful, gritty, dark, and aggressive remix of the original. The title lives up to the every bit of feel you get from both of these mixes and they are both guaranteed to set a proper mood on the dance floor when delivered with precision.*
