KEXP and Seattle Center are collaborating on a concert series at Mural Amphitheater running every Friday from July 31 to Aug. 21; the series will also include the radio station's annual barbeque-enhanced show Sat. Aug. 8. The surprisingly revitalized Dinosaur Jr. will headline the latter event.

Discover great music this summer at Seattle Center! KEXP and Seattle Center Present Concerts at the Mural, a free summer concert series curated by KEXP, every Friday, July 31 — Aug. 21, 6 p.m. — 8 p.m., on the lawn of Seattle Center Mural Amphitheatre. Included in this series is the annual KEXP BBQ, a free-entry event offering a great line-up of bands, Saturday, August 8, 2 p.m. — 9 p.m., at Seattle Center.

Artists performing at Concerts at the Mural and KEXP BBQ include Dinosaur Jr., The Dodos, Fruit Bats, Blitzen Trapper, Viva Voce, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Army Navy, Japandroids, Dyme Def and more! (See full lineup below). All Mural Concert Series and KEXP BBQ events are free to all ages.

“I can't think of a better way to spend warm summer nights than surrounded by the KEXP family, sitting outside, and enjoying some amazing shows,” stated KEXP Midday Show Host, Cheryl Waters. “I'm so excited about all the great bands. Each of the artists performing exemplifies the great music on KEXP. It will be a great opportunity for folks to see some of their favorite bands, for free, and maybe even discover some new favorites.”

Originally brought together in response to public calls for more outdoor music, KEXP and Seattle Center soon realized they held a shared commitment to innovative and culturally diverse programming. This is the second year the two have collaborated on Concerts at the Mural, where Seattle Center provides the outdoor concert space, technical expertise and shared vision to help fulfill KEXP’s commitment to presenting “music that matters.”
