Hauntologists: Mysteriously Awesome

Posted by on Tue, Jul 21, 2009 at 11:17 AM

Hauntologists is/are ruling my world on the minimal-techno front at the moment. (Info on Hauntologists is scarce, so I’m not sure if it’s a solo project or a group. Couldn't find any music by Hauntologists on MySpace, Virb, or Soundcloud, either.) Hauntologists' tracks are detail-rich within stringent parameters, at once ascetic and sensual, and are deep, dubby, and mantric without blatantly imitating Basic Channel/Chain Reaction tropes, as do so many producers this decade. Check out some samples from their two EPs (see covers below) here and here.

It's all about Ghostbox and Woebot. Information is little to non existent because it's a genre that depends on a memory of something that used to be there but still might exsist in a corner of ones mind.
