Block Party Tickets Are Not Sold Out

Posted by on Sat, Jul 25, 2009 at 6:35 PM

I know KEXP just said that Block Party tickets are sold out, but they're not. Tickets are still available at the gate, and there are still plenty of bands to see (the Thermals, the Gossip, the Lonely Forest, Sonic Youth, Future of the Left, etc.).

Oh, boy! 56-year-old Kim Gordon and Sonic Seniors. Yeah, baby!

Sonic Youth were absolutely amazing.

The roving band of shroomed-out hicks and their mosh pit, not so much.
The jackass in the cowboy hat spraying water on them from the Red Bull canopy, not so much.

Bore-ing. The ONE good band in the whole thing was the Japandroids. Sonic Youth could have been replaced by a picture of Sonic the Hedgehog, the show would've been significantly better as a result.

The purpose of the hose was to try to cool down the crowd and slow down the amount of medicals that were happening due to so many people crammed into such a small space. Your crammed up against a barricade with 10,000 people behind you and you are complaining about getting wet...or that its too crowded...or that you dont like the sound, the band, the crowd...stay home.
