Bars / Homo / Love Pony Will Ride Again! August 22nd!*

I got a sneak peek inside the new Pony last night. It's unbelievable how much it doesn't look anything like that little flower shop that lived near 12th and Madison for I dunno know how many years. There's custom bar being built, some converted church pew seating (!!), a special nook for the big gay air hockey table, and a brand new patio. Also of note, um, the bartenders?! Whaaat? HOT.

* August 22 is the proposed opening night. Still to be confirmed.

I read "main switching area" on the prints as "man switching area". I like my version better.

Even weirder, "women's" WC. Heh. I hope they put the strobe lights and stripes in the bathroom again. I took a lot of crazy nudie pics in the old Pony stink closet

I can't even tell you how elated I am by this. And I don't even live in Seattle anymore. The end of Pony marked the figurative and literal end of 10 years in Seattle for me (I packed up and moved to SF the very day after the bar closed. The condo clusterfuck proved nauseating.) and I must say I had more debauched fun in those last 6 months than I did in countless years beforehand.

The list of things to miss about Seattle grows shorter every day, but Pony tops the list. (That aside, WTF SF? Why so few dirtfags? And can we get a day above 62 degrees? It's August, I'm just sayin.) I'm crying a single Colt 45 tear of joy. XO, Marcus.
