Not be Baatin:

We were saddned to hear the news that Baatin (born Titus Glover), co-founder of the Detroit superstar rap trio Slum Village, was found dead on the 14000 block of Anglin Street in Detroit this Saturday morning, August 2nd. The cause of death is still unknown and the Detroit Police expressed that in a statement. The rapper — who founded Slum Village with T3 and the late J Dilla — had admitted in interviews over the years that he suffered from schizophrenia and other emotional problems.

Slum Village is one of the saddest stories in the history of hiphop. Attached to its name are two deaths and the sad fact that the crew never achieved the fame and recognition it deserved. Yes, we are in love with the S.

Thanks for posting this. Maybe people will start to go back and appreciate SV finally.

I had Fantastic Vols 1 & 2 on repeat all day on Saturday. Long live SV. RIP Dilla and Baatin!

Damn.. what's more sad than the lack of SV's fame/recognition is that some folks would hear this and simply dismiss it as "cRap".

feel free to open your minds now, if you are suspect and/or guilty.

You might consider dropping Mike Thrasher an e-mail and reminding him to take Baatin off the Slum Village reunion on his Rock The Bells ads. No snark, just sayin'.
