If you're not attending the final dress rehearsal of Seattle Opera's Ring Cycle tonight, artist and occasional Line Out contributor Johanna Breiding is showing new photography at Gallery Design Commission, 310 South Washington Street in Pioneer Square.

I am here but I am there: Make-Believe to the Reel features torrid landscapes of the Swiss alps populated by gnome-like tricksters, hushed science fiction stills captured illegaly inside Germany's abandoned amusement park, details of drowned houses in Thailand and an overall thematic study of the architecture of decay.

Stop by from 6 to 10pm tonight to partake of free wine. Admission is free and yes, there will be free cupcakes.

The photos were so great I wasn't upset the cupcakes were gone when I got there.
