The monthly Dug event happens tonight at Lo-Fi Performance Gallery. For this edition, DJ Newman (Giant Panda's producer/DJ) and Peter Lucas (head of NWFF’s Soul Nite) join resident selectors Christian Science, David James, and Greasy for a night of rare funk, boogie, reggae, soul, and other body-moving genres. Lucas is bringing some rare soul footage to be shown on the Lo-Fi's big screen of soul giants such as James Brown, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, and a bunch of Joe Tex to celebrate the latter's birthday. Also, Christian will give you a mix he's made if you're nice to him.
Dug happens every first Friday from 9 pm-2 am and costs $5. 21+.
