Homo I Don't Understand This Advertisement

Came across this ad in the SGN the other day (while trying to find Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid's column). Looked at it with a friend for a long while, waiting for it to make sense. The longer we looked, more the it didn't make sense. The men at C. C. Attle's have squirrels for penises? Or like to have sex with squirrels? Or...?
Just called C. C. Attle's to ask if someone could explain the image to me. "Oh, well I don't know," said the guy who answered, an employee in the kitchen, "and no one's here that can explain it to you. If you can call back later maybe someone could. No one explained it to me. I work in the kicthen, I saw the ad and I didn't understand it either, but I didn't ask."

well the half naked and hair guy is some version of what might be seen there. then of course its the squirrel-izing craze that started due to a couple taking some timed photos and one had a squirrel in it doing the same kind of pose after being attracted by the camera sounds and its been some stupid craze... see link.

Christopher the add is very clear… if you drink enough at C.C.’s that kinnda squirrely guy you would never go home with starts to look like a big handsome muscle bear.

Squirrels like nuts. By embracing Seattle's skyline, the squirrel is implying Seattle (C.C. Attle's) has been subjugated to his quest to get a nut.

I dunno. Squirrels eat nuts maybe? Or maybe it's a gimmicky thing wherein it means nothing but draws attention. Kind of like that old marketing trick grocery stores used to use by intentionally hanging the odd sale item poster upside down in its front window thereby drawing more attention to it.
Of course the downside to using that technique is having to respond about a hundred times a day to, "Did you know there's an upside down poster in your window?"

There are hairy men at CC's. There are squirrels in Seattle. Sometimes you see them at parks or rummaging through trash cans. I don't think there is much to get.

A while ago, CC's received complaints about the nude photos that were playing on the TVs in the bar (photos that depicted single nude male models, no intercourse). Instead of removing the offending pictures, they instead covered the crotch of each model with goofy clip art like shampoo bottles, pizza boxes, etc. Perhaps they decided to continue that concept in their print advertising- a sly jab at the people who bitched about the male nudity in the first place.
