Are you as famous in Portland as you are in Seattle?

That's right, Ladies...Ben Lashes is SINGLE! Ben was found at the Crocodile Cafe for the late-night Harvey Danger performance this past Saturday. He confirmed that he now lives in Portland and seems to be really happy about it.

Whatever happened to The Lashes? They were the next big thing 5 or 6 years ago and pretty much dropped off the face of the planet a few years ago. Their website is down and they haven't logged into their MySpace page in many months, but it appears like they are still a band.

They gave away a half record last year that wasn't finished after their guitar player became paralyzed in a tragic accident. But you could go ahead and keep being a dick, if that's your style.

I think the belts thing is funny, as I clearly remember a writeup that had more than one paragraph about the clothing...especially the belts. I guess when you create buzz and hype about your band using a very "OF THE TIME" fashion, rather than content, you're bound to be the object of ridicule when that fashion is seen as absurd and silly.

When people come on to line out and type mean/negative things its not a surprise at all. Seattle is full of people who project their own self loathing and disappointment with their life onto others, and then pretend like whatever their doing (perhaps drinking pabst and old crow every night and waking up having pissed in their closet) is the shit. Either way, lets all just live our lives, and if you don't like people that's fine, you don't have to - but you don't have to spread shitty negative vibes out to every one else.
