Bumbershoot Kick-Off Party Tonight

Posted by on Fri, Sep 4, 2009 at 10:48 AM

Mr. Mizell already gave you a few reasons to check out Victor Shade at the High Dive tonight and should you heed his advice (and you should) I advise you arrive early enough to catch the Redwood Plan and Born Anchors, two very different local rock bands who both put on fantastic shows.

The Redwood Plan is fronted by Lesli Wood and they summon the same punk rock dance party of Q and Not U with some of the same swagger and attitude of the Gossip. You can hear the Redwood Plan's four-song EP for free at their website—www.theredwoodplan.com.

And the Born Anchors have a little bit of a Jawbox vibe—here's video of them playing "In Disguise" at the KEXP BBQ a few weeks back:

The show starts 9 pm and costs $10, and It'll be the perfect primer for your thee-day Bumbershoot binge. Speaking of Bumbershoot, did you know we have write-ups on every thing you'll see this weekend as well as a completely customizable schedule? We do! Click here!
