TooooooNIGHT!

Posted by on Sat, Sep 12, 2009 at 1:42 PM

Hello. There are a few important things I would like to bring to your attention. Thank you!

Firstly, The Stay Up Late Show is happening again tonight! After a summer-long hiatus, somebody called JOSH FEIT (?!?) and drag performer deluxe ADE will be appearing, and a preview of fall fashions from, um, The CRYPT with, um, Mr. and Ms. Washington State Leather will happen. (Fashion, indeed.) Also, there will be some cooking tips with the 5 Spot’s lunch lady! So thank God there’s a bar. The show starts at 8:00pm, the booze starts at 7:30pm, it’s $10 to get in, and it’s all happening at ACT Theater, not the Balagan (like usual), so don’t go to the Balagan, unless you hunger for disappointment. (ACT is at 700 Union Street.)

And please! Tonight also sees the Saturday night return of the Capitol Club’s signature weekend event FREAK OUT with DJs Freakazoid, Barbarella and Verse. It’s starts at 9pm, and, as usual, there is no cover. (414 East Pike.)

And most thrilling, indeed, perhaps, is the delicious Emerald City Soul Club at the LoFi. This event is $10 at the door and it will be full-to-burstin’ with the ECSC’s funky brand of 60s and 70s soul. It also starts at 9pm. So. You’ve got a decision to make. Now don’t you? (The LoFi is at 425 Eastlake Ave East, by the way.)

And if you happen to be huge and/or hairy and/and gay, you have absolutely no decision to make at all: there is only one place for you tonight. Chop Suey. They’re having a party just for huge, hairy, gay you called Bearracuda Seattle. (Ugh.) It happens four times a year, it features a DJ called Pete "Jester" Savas this time, it costs $8 (after 10pm, $5 before) and there will even be free massages! So. You know. Ew.

Tonight!

To answer my question, it was far, FAR better than expected.
