Shape-shifting Seattle experimentalists Climax Golden Twins—Wall of Sound co-owner Jeffery Taylor and Rob Millis—scored a coup by placing a track on The Wire magazine's Wire Tapper 22 compilation (free with a purchase of the Oct. 2009 issue, with Broadcast on the cover).
The featured track, "Chinese," will appear on a forthcoming album on Etude Records. It sounds nothing like the pneumatic free-rock blowout in the video below. Rather, it's a spare, pensive duet (guitars and possibly a pipa) of delicate beauty, and it refreshes the senses.
