Get Free Wristbands to the Garage Fest in Portland!

Feel like taking a road trip? On October 17th, dozens are artists are going to perform at the Garage Fest in Portland—Roky Erickson, the Dirtbombs, Black Lips, Pierced Arrows, Jay Reatard, King Khan & BBQ Show, Gris Gris, the Spits, Dutchess & the Duke, and many, many more. The whole thing is FREE so long as you register in advance here, but two lucky Line Out readers get to get to go for free! Wait... what?

Let me explain.

When you register online (by September 28th, hurry!), all that means is you will be on the list to get a wristband at the gate. So you'll have to go down there, and then wait in the will call lines to get your wristband before you can actually enter the festival. And even then, it's based on a first come first served basis, so you might not even get in if you get there late. Pain. In. The. Ass.

But winning a pair of wristbands will allow you to bypass that step! The wristbands will be sent to you in the mail, so all you have to do is show up whenever the fuck you want, flash your wristband, and head on in to the festival! (The music happens in four different venues and their capacity varies—the wristband doesn't guarantee you entry to a full venue.)

To enter to win a pair of wristbands, just send your first name and mailing address to freetickets@thestranger.com—put Garage Fest in the subject line. Two winners will be notified via e-mail, and your wristbands will be sent next week to allow plenty of time for them to get there before you head out of town. We will only use your mailing address to send you your wristbands—no mailing lists or anything else. Promise.

For the complete line-up, venue info, and to register for a wristband, visit www.scion.com/garagefest.

Good luck!

Huh, I registered online a few weeks ago and could select a local record store to pick up my pass at. The confirmation email said "You are confirmed for 1 ticket to the Scion Garage Fest. To retrieve your ticket, please bring this print out along with valid ID for proof of identity and age to the retail location you selected. This email is not your ticket and you will need the information below in order to complete the ticketing process. You can pick up your ticket starting Friday, October 2, 2009"
