Also Tonight: The KARP LIVES! Benefit

Posted by on Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 3:12 PM

In addition to all this good stuff, Akimbo, 1776, and Marionettes of Satan are playing a fundraiser to benefit the documentary film Kill All Redneck Pricks: KARP LIVES! 1990-1998 at the marsBar. It starts at 9 pm, is 21+, and there's a $6 donation at the door.

It's kind of hilarious that Akimbo is playing the Mars Bar. I'm contemplating taking bets on how long they play before the sound guy and bar staff freak out and shut them down.

If they try a Karpmaniac will hit them in the head with the cardboard heavy metal championship belt.

1776 is Bill from Federation X and Sterling from Loving Thunder. Jams.

the Mars Bar is stuck with the worst sound volume issues in Seattle due to the snobby fuckers who live upstairs. They will call the cops if they hear anything louder than a mouse fart. that's why all the shows there are acoustic 'lesbian seagull' duos.

Definitely weird to see Akimbo there. I felt bad moving the slightest bit while they were playing. Totally the wrong setting.
