Also Tonight in Music: Filthy Dukes

Posted by on Tue, Oct 27, 2009 at 1:51 PM

Heard about this too late to include it in the paper, but Filthy Dukes will be playing SeeSound Lounge tonight to help the HouseCall weekly event celebrate its first anniversary.

Filthy Dukes—London's Olly Dixon, Tim Lawton, and Mark Ralph—have a mix coming out on Fabric Nov. 17, Fabriclive 48, which showcases their sharp ears for electro, disco, and newer, bass-heavy genres. It's a fun, sparkly trawl through old and new body-motivating tracks. Any DJs who can fit in cuts by Phenomenal Hand Clap Band, Mujava, Mr Oizo, Joakim, and Aphex Twin into one set are okay with me; the transition from Hockey's "Learn to Lose (Filthy Dukes Remix)" into Sparks' "Beat the Clock" is especially deft.

SeeSound is located at 115 Blanchard St., (206) 374-3733.
